Hell Yeah - Wrath of the Dead Rabbit!

Drinky Talky Thingy Podcast : Hell Yeah! We’re Dodging Episode #150!

Hell Yeah - Wrath of the Dead Rabbit!
Hell Yeah – Wrath of the Dead Rabbit!

So here we are, after all this time at the 150th-ish episode of the Drinky Talky Thingy.

That said we’re not going to count this one as we are trying to organise another recording where all the group are involved.

But being that we hadn’t recorded in a while we felt like doing so and took the opportunity to try out a new format.

Let us know in the comments if it makes any difference at all.

During our recording we may have spoken about any of the stories linked below the Amplitude Kickstart, Oclus Lawsuits, Watch Dog failings and even a bit of a Dig at Nintendo.

Anyway all that and much more in this episode of the Drinky Talky Thingy.

Drinky Talky Thingy Podcast #149: Long overdue and Well out of date

Because not even Iwata knows what he is doing anymore
Because not even Iwata knows what he is doing anymore

Ok yes this podcast is well out of date, we are looking forward to the day that life doesn’t keep getting in our way.

That should be soon, for now i’m afraid if you are listening to this you are listening to something that was recorded 3 weeks ago.

To make matters worse it was recorded after a few weeks off due to Paddy being out the country.

That said we debated crowdfunding, talked about the fact that being crap at gaming makes people more violent than the game content, talked about peoples unplayed steam collections and even talked about the 1:1 scale Minecraft map of Denmark.

Anyway all that and much more in this episode of the Drinky Talky Thingy.

This is what a holy outhouse on legs looks like

Diablo III: Reaper of Souls (PC) Review

When Blizzard first launched Diablo III it was somewhat of a mixed bag. While it got slated by its fans it was still one of the best selling games of 2012, so an expansion was inevitable.

Enter Diablo III:Reaper of Souls, and only one question remains. Has Blizzard done enough to the bring back the fans and appease for the mistakes of the first release?

Where we will start though is before the release of the expansion with the patch 2.0.1 and the release of what they called “Loot 2.0”. What this means is that these changes are available even if you don’t buy the expansion.

This patch fixed on of the biggest complaints levelled at the game, that there was no reason to keep playing after hitting the level cap. The Paragon system, while an interesting idea, lacked finesse so received a heavy redesign. Gone are the caps and the lock to individual characters, the system is now limitless and account-wide.

But on a personal level it was the changes to the loot generation system that stood out more to me more. To strip it back to the basic change, Items will now drop less often, but when they do they do they will be of a higher quality.

This means it will be more common to find upgrades that interest you again. One other thing they are trying to do is add more ‘build-changing’ elements to legendaries and sets. These include removing costs from certain skills or causing skills to auto-trigger on key events. This returns even more fun to the set building process.

Seriously though we know that turned out to be a hoax, but we were enjoying it so much we want to keep the faith.

We do however have to say well played that guy, the effort you went to for this prank is impressive – I wish I had that dedication and a spare £1000 to spend on a prank.

That wasn’t the only news this week obviously, there was Sales Data for the PS4 & X-Box One, Valve Joining the Linux Foundation, An idiot getting ripped off to the tune of £450 and YouTube seriously screwing up with MCN’s and content matching.

Anyway all that and much more in this episode of the Drinky Talky Thingy.

There sure is a lot of gaming themed crap out there, and if we see one more Angry Birds product we may just lose the plot.

That would however require us having had a plot in the first place but that is just semantics.

On this weeks podcast in between our regular rambling about anything but gaming some of the stories we covered in this show were doozies.

From bad times for Sony as they announced some missing features for the PS4 and a less than stellar launch lineup, to the face that the NVidea Shield now has a console mode to make it a solid steambox rival. We even got reminded that we were getting old by the 10th anniversary of Trackmania.

Its Super Effective!!

Drinky Talky Thingy Podcast #137: Is Everybody Sitting Comfortably?

Its Super Effective!!
Its Super Effective!!

While it may not sound important to most people, this week saw a bit of a breakthrough. After 3 years of recording Gow finally has a proper chair!

When we started recording the only spare seat I had for him was a broken office chair with no back, and for some reason I never got round to finding him a replacement till now. I wonder how long it will take before he gets his own mic?

However you are here for the gaming news and on that front we had quite a lot to go over after taking last week off. From the Activision buyout finally completing, Wii U sales tripling after a price drop, bad news about both the PS4 & XBox One’s hardware compatibility, Blizzard announcing Heart of the Storm & Even a bit of a laugh at The Sun.

Anyway all that and much more in this episode of the Drinky Talky Thingy.
