Episode #44: Timed to perfection, Styled like a boss

Ok Saints Row 3, you will I'll buy a copy just leave Mr fluffyboots alone!

Its taken 11 months of trying, but after 44 episodes we finally did it. We have finally stopped an episode of the podcast at an exact second!!

Seriously, this podcast is 2hrs 5 minutes and 00.000 seconds long. I have been aiming for that level of perfection ever since Gow mentioned his OCD regarding this matter and infected me with it

You will also notice that this week we finally got a soundboard working, now were not sure if its working correctly – were hoping that you guys will tell us if it is not but its there so listen out for it.

Other than there there is the usual mix of gmaing news and myself and Gow going off topic along the way.

Were both also still growing Moustaches for Movember so you want to help us in our good cause then you can donate to us for our madness at http://mobro.co/DrunkenGamer.

Anyway on to the podcast and as always links to almost all the topics covered in tonight’s show are available after the jump.

Also as always we are still taking suggestions for the mid podcast songs. So if you have a suggestion for song to be included in the podcast then put it in the comments of this post or send them too @DrunkenGamer or @D_Gow . They will be put on the short-list and you will be mentioned in the podcast itself when played

Anyway enjoy this episode of the Drinky Talky Thingy.

Also for while now listeners have been asking for a way to buy us a beer and help us get drunk for their amusement, well now we have found a way. We have set up an Amazon wish list full of beer and sugary things that you can send to us (trust us were just as funny hyper as drunk). Anyone that does so can send any message with their beer and we will say it in the show. Amazon.co.uk: Drinky Talky Thing

Dead Space 2 Drinking Game

Ahh the perils of being the wingman, having to take the hots ones ugly friend

As hard as I tried when playing the first Dead Space, I could not think of a ‘sociable’ drinking game for it. The same is true of the campaign of Dead Space 2, fortunately though Visceral added some multiplayer for me to look at this time as well.

Obviously this will need slightly different rules for humans and Necromorphs, as NecroMorphs die a lot more regularly.

As always with my drinking games, when I refer to a ‘Drink’ I personally have a solid gulp of beer so that I can enjoy my gaming for longer, but you all know your own drinking limits so it’s up to you what you choose to drink.

When playing Necromorph:

Join Us!! – When you kill a human, 1 Drink

One of Many – When you get an assist to a kill, 1 Drink

Dinner Time – When you successfully pull off an execution kill, 2 Drinks

When playing as Humans:

Thinning out the herd – When you perform a Kill Streak, 1 Drink

Oi Look over here – When you complete an objective and get a new one, 1 Drink

You owe me one – When you rescue someone from an execution attack, 1 Drink

The cafeteria is closed – Successfully defend against an execution attack, 2 drinks

Now I know you are going to be busy playing your match that is why most of these rules can be applied between rounds based on the match scoreboard. Overall though i would classify this as a Moderate to Heavy drinking game.

Ding! DrunkenGamer Gains a level!

Well, I know some of you already know this but yesterday was my birthday. I would first like to thank all the people who sent me birthday wishes, they were very much appreciated.

This one makes me 28, however for most of the day I believed it was 29. Thank god the wife is still counting because I really do keep forgetting.

The thing is even though I’m making this post the actual event itself does not interest me as much anymore. I am fine with people who love to celebrate their birthday and would never do anything to put a damper on that, but I’m just not one of them.

I will happily celebrate other things, my wedding anniversary for one and I’m sure that once I have kid’s I’ll celebrate their birthdays properly, Hell I’ll even make an effort for X-Mas to a degree. However celebrating my birthday just seems pretty pointless, the only thing it actually could be is a reason to get drunk, but even then I don’t really need excuses for a drink anymore.

For me it’s just that I think to myself, ‘Why should I celebrate something that required no effort at all?’. All I have managed to do is not die, that’s not an achievement. It falls into the same class as New Year, events that are going to happen without any extra level of effort or skill on your part.

Getting married and managing to keep it intact is an achievement worth celebrating, raising a kid is an achievement worth celebrating – Hell even listening to Noddy Bloody Holder scream ‘IT’S CHRISTMAS’ at you for 2 months and without killing someone is worth celebrating. They all need a hell of a lot of effort.

So instead of going out an celebrating, I honoured the day with the same lack of effort the year itself required and took the day off work. To kill some time I finally picked up a copy of Dead Space 2, which while I’ve only played a few hours of is even more epic than the first game.

Just thought I would share my opinion on the concept, as I really couldn’t think of anything more topical to write today.

Drinky Talky Thing 2011 #4

If anyone knows where I can get some of this beer, please let me know!

Well it seems that the sanity of Gow’s friend’s seem to have returned to normal levels. Only on person cam up with a word that didn’t exist. That’s not to say that they made the word easy to work in.

This week we had the chance to properly use the new studio arm and mic together. Last week we got to us the mic but I had to get a replacement arm sent as the first was damaged in delivery.

I have to commend the eBay seller nottinghammusicshop who has been incredibly helpful and responsive.

Any as you can no doubt see I am rambling as I need to pad out the section next to the image. The reason for that is the podcast player does not fit in this gap and leaves a lot of ugly whitespace.

So without further stalling here is this weeks Podcast – as always the links for any story can be found below.
