Talking Point: Does Last of Us live up to the hype?

It is that time of the week again, when in to get warmed up ready for the podcast we ramble about a chosen topic. Before we got onto this weeks topic we did however have to handle the comments of the Listeners/Viewers of last weeks show – Which Games Franchise has been done to death?

Here are some of the things our viewers suggested

  • Trevor – Crash Bandicoot
  • Dan Allen – Call of Duty
  • Stuart Renton – Pokemon & Mario
  • Mike Lockwood – Tekken & Splinter Cell
  • Alec-Ross Bower  – Splinter Cell, Resident Evil, Call of Duty & Fifa
  • FirehawkShadowchild – EA Sports Collection & Simulator Franchise
  • TimmyHassall – Call of Duty
  • Michell Chatterton – House of the Dead

As always we then went on to have a good old fashion natter about this weeks topic which was Does Last of Us live up to the hype?

For us we think that on the whole it does, there are some areas where it is a little weak in the gameplay but the story carries it in our eyes.

So, What about it guys & gals?

Let us know in the comments below which is your favourite and suggest a possible question for the next Talking Point, please do as I seem bad at picking them myself.  Everything is fair game, from politics to movies, music to games, hell we will even discuss our favourite womble if you so desire it.

This really was the most terrifying sound in my childhood!

Talking Point: Which Games Franchise has been done to death?

It is that time of the week again, when in to get warmed up ready for the podcast we ramble about a chosen topic. Before we got onto this weeks topic we did however have to handle the comments of the Listeners/Viewers of last weeks show – Which GameWorld would you like to live in and as which Character?

Here are some of the things our viewers suggested

  • FirehawkShadowChild –  Forgotten Realm setting (ie Baldurs Gate, Icewind Dale) – Ranger or Mage or  Shadowrun (Decker or Street Samurai)
  • Michelle Chatterton – Sonic Universe as Tails
  •  Adam OMC – Pokemon Universe as Trainer Red
  • Stuart Renton – Mario Universe as Princess Peach
  • Dan Allen & Mosh Miller – Couldn’t pick one as all the games they play are too violent
  • Mike Lockwood – Agent 47 in Skyrim or Himself in Last of Us

As always we then went on to have a good old fashion natter about this weeks topic which was Which Game Franchise has been done to death and which would you like to see return?

This was one of those topics were I don’t think we managed to pick one each this week despite Gow trying to convince us that Sonic belonged on the list. What we did agree is that Guitar Hero had to be one of them as it pretty much killed off an entire genre & the Oblivion Engine because seriously how many games do they want to build on that core?

Talking Point: Which GameWorld would you like to live in and as which Character?

It is that time of the week again, when in to get warmed up ready for the podcast we ramble about a chosen topic. Before we got onto this weeks topic we did however have to handle the comments of the Listeners/Viewers of last weeks show – Which board games do you play & which do you think we should?

Here are some of the things our viewers suggested

  • Roy Bass – Needs to learn to use Google Translate
  • Mike Lockwood – Wants a Cluedo & Guess Who, but also suggested Mousetrap and Kerplunk
  • Timothy Hassall – Ludo, Risk and Star Wars Monopoly
  • Richard Fellows – Dr who monopoly
  • Adam omc – Settlers of Catan
  • Michelle ‘Shellywoo’ Chatterton – Risk & Monopoly (We Think!?)
  • FireHawkShadowchild – King of Tokyo, Robo Rally, Munchkins and Arkham Horror.

As always we then went on to have a good old fashion natter about this weeks topic which was Which GameWorld would you like to live in and as which Character?

For Gow that meant moving into GTA world as a random member of the public, then realising that given the option to be anyone always be Batman. This was because of the open gameworld leaving him with lots to do.

For Paddy this meant the Sonic Universe, again for the amount of variation in that world leading to lots of things to do – but we did get to see the dark side of the DrunkenGamer as he decided he would be himself, but would depose Robotnik as ruler of the world and kill Sonic.

It is that time of the week again, when in to get warmed up ready for the podcast we ramble about a chosen topic. Before we got onto this weeks topic we did however have to handle the comments of the Listeners/Viewers of last weeks show – Which Game in your backlog are you most looking forward to finally playing?

Here is what everyone picked for their favourites

  • Michelle Chatterton – Tiny Tina DLC for Borderlands 2, Portal 2, Dead Island, Knights of the Old Republic II
  • Martin Tattersall – Last remnant and Witcher 1
  • Trevor Bristle – Company of Heroes 2 & Bioshock Infinite

  • Adam Onc – Batman Arkham City
  • FirehawkShadowChild –  Dust: An Elysian Tail, Darksiders I and II & Tomb Raider
  • Brian Inman – Portal 2
  • Misfitfan3996 – Alan Wake

As always we then went on to have a good old fashion natter about this weeks topic which we FireHawkShadowChild suggested should be Which board games do you play? Now as it turns out we do not play many of them at all, so we want to know both which you play and which you think we should play and record the outcome of.
