Archive Dive 015: Prison Architect (Part 4)

Something around here is starting to smell, oh its the inmates! Day 4 of the running of this prison and I realise I never built a shower room or even gave them any windows. Trying to fix this is where things start to go wrong.

At least one escape happens when I knock a door hole into the cell wall without first building the room to keep them in. Then it all kicks off in the Yard leaving one prisoner bleeding to death. This is not even to mention all the things starting to break and flood the cells.

It is then that I finally realise that I missed a large feature of the game.

With that I decided that this Archive Dive has to come to an end, however this is one of the games I feel I could play a lot more of – so decided that a secondary series where I go into more depth on the games I enjoy – I will start these alongside the next Archive Dive

Archive Dive 014: Prison Architect (Part 3)

So with the basic shell complete, it time to hire us some staff and get our first load of convicts in.

Things seemed like they were finally under control, even with the extra confidence to expand my holding cells and provide the staff with a much needed break room.

What could possibly go wrong unless my guards put all of the new intake into the smaller of the two cells and keep letting them through unsecure staff doors?

Archive Dive 013: Prison Architect (Part 2)

So with the job done at the Intro prison, it was time to branch out and set up one of our own.

This was where it all started to go so very wrong, so many options available to me, so many things that have to be done – and top that off with a timer ticking away to the arrival of my first wagonload of prisoners.

Thank god for the pause option and the planning tools.

Archive Dive 012: Prison Architect (Part 1)

I know I have not finished Wallace and Gromit’s: Fright of the Bumblebees, but I took one look at it as I went to record this morning and I just could not bring myself to load it up. It really did not hook me enough to care.

So for that reason we once again returned to http://www.steamroulette.net/ to pick the next game. This time the RNG gods were good to me and in my collection it found Prison Architect. I don’t know when exactly I picked this up, but I guess thats one of the points of this series, but I have been wanting to play this for quite a while now.

Let’s get ourselves a prison built, well to start with lets do the intro and expand on an existing one – but you get the point.
